Gharial Research and Conservation Unit (GRACU)
The Gharial Research and Conservation Unit (GRACU) is a research and conservation center located in Tikarpada, Odisha. The center was established in 1975 as part of the National Crocodile Conservation Programme (NCCP).
GRACU is dedicated to the conservation of the gharial (Gavialis gangeticus) and mugger (Crocodylus palustris) crocodiles. The center conducts research on the biology, ecology, and conservation of these species. GRACU also breeds and releases crocodiles into the wild.
